A lot of us have wondered when employers would weigh in against anti-immigrant legislators. The collapse of immigration reform, dramatic reduction in employment visas, and the militarization of the workplace through raids which have gone from being surgical arrests of individuals to wholesale round-ups of Latino employees have finally drawn big-business's ire.
The NY Times published an article on the business backlash against Know Nothing pols that has become the most talked about article of the week.
The rage against immigrants has made whole business sectors in the U.S. non-competitive. As business visas become hard to get and round-ups target field labor, expect everything from vegetable prive increases to the increased off-shoring of high-tech to result.
