In the News Huntington Ordinance Passed Last Night

The Town of Huntington passed an amended loitering ordinance last night that is aimed at day laborers looking for work and contractors who stop to find workers around Depot St. in Huntington Station.

The Depot St. site is land that the Town of Huntington has designated as an open air hiring site run by Family Service League. Many opponents of the loitering ordinance asked for the Town Board to hold off on the bill until a trailer is brought to the site sometime this summer and have had a chance to see how that will affect the loitering issues.
