Long Island Wins

In the News I'll have guns with my anti-immigrant politics

We sometimes forget who the leaders of Long Island's anti-immigrant groups are.

Newsday reminded us yesterday with this item about one of the leaders of our region's own Minuteman militia.

Submitted for your consideration: One Gabriel Razzano.

Razzano, an anti-immigrant activist with the Minuteman militia, is your neighbor if you live in Freeport. He is suing to get his guns, confiscated by the Nassau PD, back.

Now his guns were purchased legally, that isn't the problem.

It is the number of guns.

Nine rifles and fifteen handguns were confiscated from him. Grand total-24 guns.

Getting ready for the Race War are we, Mr. Razzano?

Razzano came to the attention of the cops when he began harassing Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy. He says he votes in her district. OK.

Only problem is, according to Newsday, records indicate that while he votes in her district (presumably against her), he lives in Peter King's kingdom.

Now if an immigrant voted in an election when he wasn't eligible, Razzano would want him deported. Wonder what the penalty should be for a Minuteman doing the same thing?

Guns, legally purhcased, are legal to own and keep in your home. There is no Constitutional limit to gun ownership. Your snide remark about starting a war is uncalled for. If you are all for the police raiding a private citizens home, just because he called out a politician on her position (we call that exercising free speech) then you need to go look into some previous history. Hitler's goons did the same thing. If you disagreed with them, they came and systematically destroyed your life. America is founded on freedom and constitutionally defined limits of government. Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy's abuse of power is obvious. The citizens in her district, unfortunately, will be the ones to pay.

You compare the Nassau police to "Hitler's goons" and you call me snide?

Sorry, but when someone in a "militia" starts storing up two dozen weapons (that we know of),I'm guessing deer hunting isn't the only thing on his mind.

By the way Ron, you might want to familiarize yourself with Godwin's Law. Here is the Wiki on it:

Godwin's Law (also known as Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies)is an adage formulated by Mike Godwin in 1990. The law states:

"As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one"

Ron is correct in his comparison. Gabe Razzano had every Right to own as many guns as he wishes. He also does not need to have them "legally" registered. He has a Right to have any kind of arms for his and family's protection, especially from other men and women who work in governmental jobs. That is the war he was ready for. "They" want guns "registered" so that politicos can do what they have done to him and make it look legitimate. Recent supreme Court decision, DC v Heller, No. 07-290, clearly stated that "The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home." Since we all have the Right, no other man or woman can take that Right away and cannot convert it into a crime. See Miller v US, 230 F.2d 486 (1956). Therefore ALL guns statutes do not apply to anyone. They exist to fool the masses. A maxim of law states should anyone take a Right from another, that man or woman has committed a crime. Ms. McCarthy and the police all committed a crime and all should have criminal charges filed against them with the Grand Jury.

Dear Patrick and all others that are so easily fooled by dishonest politicians and dishonest media:

Let’s put this into perspective. There are people that are uncomfortable/afraid of guns and people that are comfortable with guns.

Those that are afraid have every right to choose not to go near guns. Those that are comfortable with them have every right to own them- as many as they so choose- the US Constitution gives them that right.

Anyway, there are many legitimate reasons why law-abiding citizens, like Mr. Razzano, may have a lot of guns, the most common being that he/she inherited them.

I for one, for example, would rather have a law-abiding citizen in possession of a loaded gun sitting next to me if I am at a school or on a commuter train/bus and a crazy person opens fire.

Granted, the person that is afraid of guns may disagree. However, that does not over-ride my rights and allow them to impose their will upon me anymore than I can force them to protect themselves.

Mr. Razzano may have been involved with the Minutemen, however, that does not make him a bad person. In fact, the police agencies there fully support them as their help is needed. Besides, we all have a right to protect our borders. Just because we hire police, that does not take our rights away. Those that are afraid will stay home, and that is best.

The real issues here relate to the dishonest acts of the police and of Carolyn McCarthy. She now states that her office was not authorized to make any complaint against Mr. Razzano. Yet, she has not apologized to him nor made proper contact with the police to encourage them to return his property.

It was the Board of Elections error that had Mr. Razzano in the wrong district, of which they have since promised to correct. However, that is not the issue.

Ms. McCarty has refused to speak with Mr. Razzano about his legitimate concerns, citing that he is not in her district. What is that? She is paid by the American people and his concerns do affect those in her district. How incompetent of her!

Instead of posting your non-sense against our Constitution, why don’t you take a look at the fact that our rights are slipping away because of people just like you that can only focus on their one little view and not the big picture.

Sal Jr., you say "Ron is correct in his comparison."

He compared Nassau's Finest to "Hitler's goons".

Jeff, you wrote "Mr. Razzano may have been involved with the Minutemen, however, that does not make him a bad person. In fact, the police agencies there fully support them as their help is needed." Could you point me to a cite that the Nassau Police Department or other relevent police departments in Nassau County where Mr Razzano stored his weapons "fully support" the Minutemen?

The minutemen have not protected boarders on Long Island.

Why are you making things up as you go along?

At first, I did not question all you wrote, but I will now.

I know the Minutemen are against illegal aliens- and so am I.

Why does your group try to fool people into believing that is the same as allowing legal immigration?

Why do you think that we should allow illegal aliens to be entitled to what we are not entitled to, at our expense to boot?

Why do you prefer to ignore the US Constitution instead of changing it legitimately?

Sorry Jeff, which part of the Constitution should I be trying to change instead of ignoring? I'm a little uncertain of which Article you are referring to.

None, thank you very much!

I like the fact that we are all equals and equally protected, that we are free to speak our minds, that we control the government and can relinquish power from the corrupt within it at will, that we can protect ourselves from crazies, that public servants are bound to serve the public, not vice versa, etc.

OK then.

Have a good weekend. It is a very lovely day here on Long Island and I hope it is where you are as well.

Thank you- and you do the same.

I do hope that, one day, we can have some intelligent debate so I can show you how your expressed views are causing damage to our liberty.

If we the people band together, our views will meld together as well.

The real difference between traditional Republicans and traditional Democrats is that the Dems have long felt that the federal government should be empowered to take care of us from cradle to grave.

I prefer to assist our old and sick, but, for example, not our free-loaders.

The simple solution is to allow those that have such strong views for all of these programs to pay a higher tax- perhaps adding as they see fit to their obligated portions.

Then, we would have nothing to fight about, except possibly dealing with the crazies that want to change the Constitution.

Each time we sit idly by and allow one right to be eliminated or minimized, we set the stage for yet another right to be squashed. This is how our legal system functions today.

We must always remind our politicians who they work for, or we are doomed- I hope that you can see that!

One definition of a true American is:

He or she that puts the future of this country first- before our own present desires.

I am on the side with Mr. Razzano and every American’s right to legally bear arms. I am not a gun owner but I know guns are very often handed down through generations. Large families very often accumulate lots of firearms and enthusiasm. With respect to Mr. Razzano’s politics, I firmly believe he is trying every good Americans job by trying to bring to light this huge immigration problem. There are host of examples not the list of which is health care. The constitution of the United States was drafted specifically to prevent the under-mining of citizens’ right unless each one of us Americans have sold to save money on cheap labor, you would have to agree with him.

Although I don't believe in guns and I get nervous that people collect them, I do believe that Carolyn McCarthy took them because Mr. Razzano protested too much. I also believe that she knew he wasn’t in her district. She, not he, should have to justify her actions to the public.

Re-read the Declaration and U.S. Constitution. Duck hunting wasn't a consideration, the colonial settlers routinely did that to survive. They also kept a gun locked and loaded near them in the fields for survival more a threat from the "red coats", British - "one of by day two of by night" Paul Revere experience.

The purpose of guns then and now is to throw off the despots that abuse their power like McCarthy and the police state friends of hers.

Maybe her husband would have survived if she had a gun or he did when the time came to run across an "invader" if not by fact, by temprament and behavior like the phony "undocumented immigrants", an oxymoron.

Member Minutemen Civil Defense Corps.

Obviously 100 guns wouldn't do anyone any good with these goons raping our civil liberties, "unreasonable search and seizure" the 4th Amendment violated, "Congress shall not" 2nd Amendment, and "speaking your mind and especially REQUIRING elected officials to abide the U.S. Constitution, 1st Amendment.

Let's get the roles straight. McCarth represents the mayor in RED DAWN that collaborated with the enemy to the extent to see those opposing him AND THE ENEMY got shot.

Nothing personal. Just business.

This services "security" is more a reminder of the SS and KGB than any American one. No instructions to put the two words together and the words totally distorted in one case to use.

Glen,

You might want to expand your cultural vantage beyond the paranoid thriller Red Dawn. And sorry, Nassau County is not a "police state".

BTW, why do so many supporters of your position seem to be contemplating the murder of public officials? Given that, could you see why the police might be a bit nervous?

Pat,

Yes, Nassau police are like Hitler's goons. All police are not taught the truth as to their duties. They have no duty to protect anyone. "But there is no constitutional right to be protected by the state against being murdered by criminals or madmen. * * * The Constitution is a charter of negative liberties; it tells the state to let people alone; it does not require the federal government or the state to provide services, even so elementary a service as maintaining law and order." Bowers v. Devito, 686 F.2d 616. "Police officers have no affirmative statutory duty to do anything." Souza v. City of Antioch, 62 Cal.Rptr.2d 909. They are taught the People are the enemy and to initiate violence against People who assert their Rights. They are not there to protect the People. They exist to protect the politicians, as what was demonstrated by the actions taken in this case. Where was the Due Process? What are the charges against Razzano? It is obvious from your statements you believe it is permissible for one man or woman to initiate violence against another when the other has not initiated any violence or does not agree with the opinions you call statutes. "Statute-The written will of the legislature." John P. King Mfg. Co. v. City Council of Augusta, 277 U.S. 100, 102. Statues are just the opinion/will of a group of men and women. All men and women have the same quantity and quality of Rights. "An equal has no power over an equal." Jenk. Cent. 174 (Maxim of Law). Razzano's Rights were violated. He has every Right to own any number of guns. "The absolute rights of individuals are those which every man [and woman] is entitled to enjoy, whether out of society or in it." 1 Bl. Comm. 123 (Maxim of Law). Ms. McCarthy and the police, both being public servants, Have no excuse for not knowing law. "Ignorance of law excuses no one." 4 Bouv. Inst. no. 3828, 2 Kent, Comm. 491, Rankin v. Mortimere, 7 Watts (Penn.) 374 (Maxim of Law). "He who defies a decision interpreting the Constitution knows precisely what he is doing. If sane, he hardly may be heard to say that he knew not what he did. * * * But willful violators of constitutional requirements, which have been defined, certainly are in no position to say that they had no adequate advance notice that they would be visited with punishment." Screws v. U.S., 325 U.S. 91, 104-105. For their actions they both should be punished. "The deprivation of any rights may be punished." Cummings v. Missouri, 4 Wall. (71 U.S.) 277, 320 (Maxim of Law). It is obvious you are ignorant of "law".

Sal Jr

Thanks for your kind comments Sal Jr.

illegals are ruining america and making states go broke

"nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;" 14th amendment.

The State deprived Mr. Razzano of his property (and threatened to deprive him of his liberty if he did not surrender that property). Under what law was this done?

Since it is impossible for you to grasp, an illegal has no business in a voting booth in this country and SHOULD be deported, however a legal immigrant is welcome to vote, they earned the right by obeying our laws. Illegals helping shape American policy? What a joke.
