Newday polled the Suffolk legislature and found that the only undecided left is John M. Kennedy, Republican of Nesconset. During the week, you were able to convince two formerly undecided legislator to oppose the bill, but one undecided came out in favor of it. That means that there are now nine votes in favor and eight opposed with one undecided. Ten votes are needed for the bill to pass.
All efforts should now focus on Kennedy. Here is his contact info:

Since the vote will be Tuesday, please call Monday. Also, please FAX and e-mail him as well. Remember, your efforts have narrowed the gap to just one vote.

Supporting IR 1105 are five Democrats, three Republicans, and Woirking Families Party legislator: Cameron Alden (R-Islip), Brian Beedenbender (D-Centereach), Lou D'Amaro (D-N. Bab.), Jack Eddington (WFP-Medford), Wayne Horsley (D-Bab.), William Lindsay (D-Holbrook), Dan Losquadro (R.-Nescpnset), Lynne Nowick (R-St. James), Steve Stern (D-Dix Hills).
Opposing the bill, and taking the pro-immigrant stance are four Democrats, three Republicans, and one Working Familiies Party legislators: Thomas Barraga (R.-W. Islip), Kate Browning (WFP-Shirley), Jon Cooper (D.-Shirley), Ricardo Montano (D-C.I.), Elie Mystal (D-Amityville), Ed Romaine (R.-Center Morriches) Vivian Viloria-Fisher (D-East Set.), Jay Schneiderman (R-Montauk).Note that Schniederman says he favors tabling the bill, but will vote for it if it comes to a final vote Tuesday.
