Pundits are indicating amazement at the tight race in McCain's home-state of Arizona. What they are missing is the big majority the state's Latinos are giving Obama. Arizona's Latinos make up 17% of the state's voters and they are going 61% to 36% for Obama.
The margin for Obama is even larger in the biggest Latino electorate by percentage in the country, New Mexico. Hispanics there are going 69% to 30% for Obama. Coclorado's smaller Latino population (13%) is keeping Obama in the race with Latinos going nearly 2 to 1 for the Democrat.
And Republicans will see a bleak future if the Texas Hispanic population which makes up one-in-five voters and one-in-three voters really went 68% for the Dems.
