If you check out the bottom right corner of the Long Island Wins front page, you'll notice a new widget from TheMiddleClass.org, a new project from the non-partisan Drum Major Institute to help all of us keep track of what our Representatives and Senators in D.C. are up to.
TheMiddleClass.org site covers immigration policy along with a variety of other issues, including housing, healthcare, education, corporate and government accountability, and tax fairness. Bills are given a thumbs up or thumbs down rating based on their potential impact on current and aspiring members of the middle class. Legislator's voting records are tallied, and each Senator or Representative is given a percentage-ranking, based on how frequently (or infrequently) their votes aligned with the interests of average, middle class Americans. (So, for example, Representative Peter King is at 67% for the year; Gary Ackerman, Carolyn McCarthy, Steve Israel, and Tim Bishop are all currently at 100%.)
Anyhow, totally worth checking out.
