The newest member of LI Wins staff, Justin recently attended Loyola University Chicago where he received an MA in social justice. He brings his experience of community organizing with Chicago Fair Trade and UNITEHERE, his training at Midwest Academy, as well as his experience working at the intersection of the labor movement and faith communities with Interfaith Worker Justice in Chicago. He holds a BA in philosophy, a certificate in theology from Saint Joseph’s University, and is certified as a parish social ministry coordinator by Catholic Charities. Justin also served as a Jesuit Volunteer in Atlanta where he worked within the criminal justice system. Justin’s vision for Long Island is a thriving and authentic community where all people are treated with respect and dignity. As the Welcoming Campaign organizer, he will work to empower community members to address the complex issue of immigration at the local level, creating space for respectful dialogue, and solutions that benefit all Long Islanders.
As an intern or volunteer with Long Island Wins, you can help support reasonable immigration policy and gain valuable organizing experience, both in the field and online.
