Print stories will typically be between 400-600 words, but we also welcome freelancers who can report through video, audio, and photography.
Payment for stories will range from $40-70 depending on the amount of traffic generated by the post during its first week online. Specific details regarding traffic targets will be available to qualified candidates.
Freelancers should be based on Long Island and have experience in journalism. Recent college graduates, bloggers, and returning journalists are all encouraged to apply. Ideally, writers will cover stories based in their own communities.
