- Free Irish Film Series: The Field
The Reel Ireland film series at Hofstra University kicks off with a free showing of The Field at 6-8:30pm, Monroe Lecture Center Theater.
Description: Screen adaptation of John B. Keane’s play. Directed by Jim Sheridan, starring Richard Harris in an Oscar nominated performance. Set in a small rural village in the Southwest of Ireland, the film explores the complex and often tense relationships between land, emigration, and identity. Discussion to be facilitated by Prof. Deb Dolan
