Fourth Day Of Immigration Reform Protests

As the national campaign of rallies for comprehensive immigration reform enters its fourth day, the goal of having pro-immigrant actions in all fifty states appears to be within reach. Every hour comes news of new rallies in new places.
One of the larger rallies was in Cleveland, Ohio yesterday. A largely Latino crowd gathered to support young immigrants calling for inclusion of the DREAM Act in any comprehensive reform proposal.
Many of the cities which saw demonstrations are not traditionally thought of as immigrant towns. For example, immigrants marched in Bangor, Maine to ask for meetings with Olympia Snow and Sue Collins. Across the country, in Portland Oregon, a similar rally took place with the focus on that state’s Congressional delegation.
An all-day rally took place in Las Vegas lasting from sun-up til after dark.
A few of the rallies were in places I’ve never heard of. For example, 75 people rallied in Nampa, Idaho yesterday. .80 people attended a rally in Bensalem, Pa. last night.
