A New York immigrant activist has been released following the halting of the deportation of Haitians.
Jean Montrevil, a Haitian born undocumented immigrant, was detained on New year’s Day and placed in detention in York, Pa. The activist had spent years organizing and speaking for immigration reform before he was arrested. On Saturday he was released from custody. He has pledged to continue to work for changes in the immigration laws.
