Immigrant Movement Building

The Daily News reports that immigrant rights supporters are having a big impact on statewide politics in new York. You should really read this article.

While the immigrant movement is typically associated with comprehensive immigration reform and successfully mobilized nearly half-a-million people for that cause on Saturday at protests around the country, it is also working to expose the anti-immigrant agenda from Arizona to Montauk.

As someone who served seven terms as the Chairman of the Board of the statewide coalition of immigrant rights groups, it has been my pleasure to see my allies in the movement keep up, and intensify the struggle against racism in our state and nationally.
