Reporting from Netroots Nation 2010 in Las Vegas.
With the federal government presenting their case in court today against Arizona’s SB 1070, several panels on immigration reform will likely draw an even larger crowd than normal here at Netroots Nation.
There will be two immigration panels this afternoon, featuring a host of experts on immigration policy and organizing.
The first panel, “Immigration Reform’s Strange Bedfellows: The Surprising Consensus that Reform will Improve American Jobs and Bolster Our Economy,” will feature Arizona State Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (whom I had the pleasure of meeting this morning), Adam Luna, Andrea Nill, Mark Lauritsen, and Art Venegas.
The second panel this afternoon, ““Illegal” Organizing: Lessons from the Migrant Youth Movement,” will likely focus on activism around the DREAM Act. Those panelists will be Kyle de Beausset, Kemi Bello, Mohammed Abdollahi, Lizbeth Mateo, and Tania Unzueta.
