A Pennsylvania jury has begun deliberating in the trial of three former members of the Shenandoah Police Department accused of covering-up the hate crime killing of Mexican immigrant Luis Ramirez in 2008. The case was brought by the United States Department of Justice against former Chief Matthew Nestor, Lt. William Moyer, and Officer Jason Hayes for obstruction of justice.

Witnesses testified that officers began interfering with the proper investigation of the attack while Ramirez still lay on the ground mortally wounded.
