Marcelo Lucero Case: Detective’s Notes From Interview With Nicholas Hausch

Last week, I posted the written statement that Nicholas Hausch gave to Suffolk County detectives after allegedly attacking Marcelo Lucero.

Fellow defendant Jeffrey Conroy is currently on trial for allegedly stabbing and killing Lucero. Hausch, who has already pleaded guilty in the attack, testified about “beaner hopping” and the alleged attack last week.

Here are detective’s notes from Hausch’s first interview with police, before he gave his written statement several hours later. I tried to keep the spelling and grammar true to the original document (scroll down for those PDFs), but I added additional paragraph breaks for readability.

Detective’s notes from the initial interview with Nicholas Hausch

Is he dead?.....I figured that cause everyone said it was way to much blood from a punch in the mouth. I didn’t do it.

Last night I was hanging out at the Rail Road Station in Jordan Dasch’s car. We picked up Kevin Shea, Hartford and Bobby.

We went to get beer at the Gas Station…USA. We stopped on the way to get a 18 case of Budweiser.

Other friends and girls were at the station. We left the rail and went to Southaven Park to play basketball but it was way to dark.

We left the park and drove past my neighborhood looking for Beaners, but we couldn’t find any, so we went to Patchogue. There’s always Spanish guys in Patchogue.

We saw one, but we couldn’t catch him. Kevin fell.

We parked near the Patchogue Library and we all got out on foot. We saw two Beaners and started talking to them “What the Fuck is good?”

I was yelling in the car “We got to get some Beaners” everyone was laughing.

Kevin Shea, yeah Kuvan, hit one of them. He started to bleed.

When Kuvan hit one guy, the other guy called Jose an ugly nigger.

Kuvan yelled to all of us to surround him. We tried to but the Spanish guy started to swing his belt.

I didn’t know he was stabbed until we were walking near the Rail Road Station. Jeff showed me the knife with blood on it and said he was fucked.

Me, Jordan and Nick Lauria were hunting Beaners on Friday into Saturday and I shot my B.B. Gun at a Spanish guy after he came at us with a broken bottle.

It was near a fancy Bodega, and a big parking lot. The cops came.
