Volunteers from the Muslims Against Hunger Project at the Mary Brennan Inn in May 2010.
As you may know, Muslims around the world are fasting this month in recognition of Ramadan, a Islamic period of physical sacrifice and spiritual reflection.
In the spirit of Ramadan, American Muslim Hunger Relief will bring a group of volunteers to the Mary Brennan Inn, a soup kitchen in Hempstead, to help feed those in need. I wrote a story in May 2010 about a similar effort by the area group Muslims Against Hunger Project.
