New Website Looks To Bolster Civic Participation in Manhattan’s Chinatown

Chinatown’s media is so fragmented, so likely to appeal to just a small segment of the community, that no one speaks to all the people who live and work in Manhattan’s Chinese neighborhood, says Jeff Yang, one of the creators of OurChinatown.org.

In a podcast for Feet in 2 Worlds, Yang talks about how the fledgling hyper-local website seeks to spark debate and conversation within the Chinatown community, as well as reshape conceptions among outsiders of what Chinatown is.
