Newsday’s immigration reporter Sumathi Reddy is moving to The Wall Street Journal to cover the New York City restaurant business for paper’s new metro section, The New York Observer reports. Says the Observer:

The Journal is creating a restaurant beat to take advantage of our ever-increasing foodie/restaurant obsession here in the city, and Journal editors believe the Times is very beatable on the restaurant news front, a source said.

I’ll contact Newsday sometime in the near future to find out which reporter, if any, will take over the immigration beat.
