Opening Statements Set for Thursday in Trial of Teen Accused of Killing Marcelo Lucero

Opening statements in the trial of Jeffrey Conroy, accused of stabbing and killing Ecuadorian immigrant Marcelo Lucero in Patchogue in November 2008, will begin on Thursday, March 18, at 11am in Riverhead’s criminal court.

Four alternate jurors were selected today, finishing out a jury selection process in which numerous potential jurors were dismissed because of ethnic bias and immigration views.
