Sheriff Joe Arpaio Refuses To Cooperate With Federal Investigation

Whenever I speak out against Arizona’s “show me your papers law,” saying it will lead to police targeting of Latinos legally in the United States, someone always responds, “If they haven’t done anything wrong, why don’t they cooperate?”

We could ask the same question of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The feds are investigating multiple civil rights violations by his office, but he is refusing to cooperate. They say they may have to take him to court to just find out if he is violating the law.
