A recent poll from the University of Washington WISER Institute shows antagonism towards immigrants developing in the Tea Party movement.

The Tea Party has gained a lot of support in a very short time. About one-in-four white Americans strongly approves of the Tea Party. Among these pro-Tea Americans 59% say that immigrants take jobs away from Americans, while only 24% of those opposed to the Tea Party agree with that statement. 53% of Tea Party supporters think that immigration should be decreased, vrs. 29% for those against the Tea Party.

Tea Party supporters are four times more likely than their opponents to say that all undocumented immigrants should be deported immediately. Only 44% of Tea Party supporters say that Latinos are intelligent and 42% say Latinos are trustworthy.
