Vandalism at a Huntington Mosque Is Being Investigated as a Possible Bias Crime

Masjid Noor, a Huntington mosque, has been the scene of four vandalism incidents in recent months, according to Newsday. In the latest one on Monday, nails and shards of glass were placed on the driveway of the mosque.

Mosques, which have been going up quietly on Long Island for years, have become targets of controversy since the Park 51 project in downtown Manhattan made national news. In recent months, the Town of Oyster Bay shuttered one mosque and mosque expansions in other communities have been met with stiff opposition.
