The staff of Long Island Wins is joining the tens of thousands of immigrant rights advocates from around the U.S. in Washington today. My bus is supposed to leave at 6:20, so I hope to be in D.C. around 11 AM. Even at 52 years old, I still enjoy the warm camaraderie of a gathering like this. Reporters tell me that if we get the sort of crowd we hope for, this will be the biggest issue-based rally of the Obama presidency to date.
