Upwards of 100,000 people* flocked to the Mall in Washington, D.C., on Sunday to show their support for comprehensive immigration reform, calling out for President Obama and Congress to fix our nation’s broken immigration system and bring undocumented immigrants out from the shadows. [*Major newspapers are reporting that tens of thousands of people attended the march; Reform Immigration for America, which organized the march, estimated 200,000, our blogger Patrick Young, Esq., guessed that it was at least 100,000. For now, I’m going with Pat. Washington Post be damned.]
I was also at the rally, where immigrant advocates and groups from around the country heard from leaders like Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) and President Obama (via video—he loves the YouTube!), as well as prominent members of the national faith, labor, and business communities.
