On September 16, Touro Law Center in Central Islip will host an educational forum on immigration law, specifically looking at Arizona’s SB 1070 and other state-level laws. Former Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi will be the keynote speaker, and the event is free and open to the public.

Touro Law Center and the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association present “The Immigration Reform Debate: Getting Beyond the Rhetoric,” part of the Continuing Legal Education Program, on Thursday, September 16, from 6-9:30pm at the Law Center in Central Islip.
This program, worth three Continuing Law Education credits, will provide an overview of immigration law and analyze the constitutionality of the recently enacted Arizona law and other state and local laws designed to address immigration related issues. It will also explore the practical realities, limitations and misconceptions faced in addressing immigration related issues.
Thomas R. Suozzi, former Nassau County Executive, will be the featured speaker. Local judges, lawyers and law professors will also share their expertise in issues relating to immigration law.
The event is free and open to the public, except for any attorneys seeking Continuing Legal Education credit, in which case it will cost $25, which includes sandwiches, refreshments, and the credit.
