Last January, I joined a delegation that traveled from Long Island to Oaxaca, Mexico, to study the roots of migration.
While in Oaxaca, we visited a migrant shelter, spoke with migration experts, and spent several days in a small village that had been depopulated by migration.
The delegation was led by Witness for Peace, a national grassroots organization that runs educational trips to Latin America. For blog posts about the trip, click here.
While we were in Oaxaca, Witness for Peace interviewed some delegates from Long Island and some of the people we met in Mexico. They recently finished editing the video, which I’ve embedded below.
If you’d like to show this video to some friends, and give them some background on the forces of migration, download this handy packet from WFP. Or better yet, join a delegation similar to this one.
